Structural Investigation, Intervention

Keast & Hood Co. performed a structural investigation and designed repairs to a 50-story office tower wherein moisture emanating from an enclosed cooling tower resulted in advanced corrosion to the building's structure. Activities included assessing severity of the damage and working with the construction manager to fashion phased repairs that could be implemented on weekends when the building's vital mechanical systems could be shut down. High performance coatings were specified and a new system to vent the cooling tower was designed to prevent future moisture damage.
