Colleen Blackwell, PE, Joins Keast & Hood Co.

Colleen F. Blackwell, PE, has joined the Philadelphia office of Keast & Hood Co. as a Project Manager. She brings over a decade of structural engineering experience, including work on a variety of high-profile projects along the East Coast, and mostly recently in Philadelphia and the surrounding area.

Colleen began her career working for a construction company, informing her structural designs with a constructability perspective. From 2005, she was a project engineer on several large-scale projects, including multiple high-rise concrete structures and various new and existing building and infrastructure projects.

“Colleen Blackwell is a strong team player with owners, architects, and members of the construction team,” says Keast & Hood Co. Principal Tom Normile. “Colleen adeptly integrates architectural vision into structural elements, and diligently works alongside other design and construction team members to resolve design and construction issues in the most efficient and effective manner possible.”

Along with her analytical and design experience, Colleen has several years of BIM exposure. She has been involved with multiple Habitat for Humanity efforts, including fundraising and project coordination.

Colleen holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University and has taken many Masters level courses at Columbia and Villanova Universities. She maintains memberships in the American Society of Civil Engineers, Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers, and Structural Engineering Institute.
