Jon Tung Joins Keast & Hood Co.

Keast & Hood Co. hired Jon Tung, PE, as project manager effective March 16. Tung is a structural engineer with 14 years of professional experience.
“Jon is well-respected in the region,” says Principal Matthew Daw. “We are excited to have his expertise in historic building modernization and new construction to enhance our team.”
Tung is based in the Washington, DC, office of Keast & Hood Co. His career includes structural design and project supervision for new construction, renovation, and adaptive reuse projects. He was involved with structural renovations of the General Services Administration Headquarters Building; National Portrait Gallery; Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture in Washington, DC; National Archives Addition; and with new construction projects at the Jefferson Library in Charlottesville, VA; Meade Center in Odenton, MD; and the Washington, DC, Convention Center.
Tung holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park and is a licensed professional engineer in Maryland. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers Association of Metropolitan Washington, and Society of Military Engineers. He also sits on the Virginia Task Force I in Fairfax County.
Tung will be involved with the Maryland State House Old House of Delegates Chamber Restoration in Annapolis, MD; the consolidation of the historic Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind campus in Staunton, VA; restoration of the Hooper Island Lighthouse on the Chesapeake Bay; and renovations to the Capitol Power Plant for the Architect of the Capitol in Washington, DC.
