The new facility provides the university and community with improved performing arts spaces. An S-shaped facade and piano-shaped floor plan required creative structural design. The new steel-framed, three-story building is founded on compacted stone piers in response to poor soil conditions. The structure includes concrete floors and brick and precast-panel walls. Features of the building include a 375-seat theater, a 100-seat recital hall, classrooms, offices, and galleries.
