To convert a former heavy industrial building for research and development, Keast & Hood Co. designed a second floor structure within a high-bay space, and an overbuild over a low-bay space to create two new levels throughout the building. Other structural modifications included removing significant portions of the exterior walls to incorporate window curtain walls.
