Jon M. Huntsman Hall
The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania
Philadelphia, PA

The new Wharton building is an L-shaped structure connected to a nine-story mid-rise cylindrical element. The remainder of the facility is low-rise and features an exterior second-level landscaped terrace. The 330,000 square foot complex is framed in structural steel with composite metal deck floor systems and bears upon a structural mat foundation. Specially-fabricated column transfer girders were designed to accommodate large, column-free areas in auditoria and interactive classrooms.
