New College House
Franklin & Marshall College

At the private, liberal arts college, residence life is characterized by College Houses - integrated living-learning environments designed to "foster the life of the mind." Keast & Hood Co. provided structural engineering for the project in which the structural system utilized CMU bearing walls supporting concrete hollow-core plank with integrated structural steel and story-high transfer trusses to permit large gathering spaces. Wood framing enabled the construction of gabled roofs and attic spaces used for mechanical equipment. Click to read more about the campus' first LEED certified project.
