Thomas J. Normile

Mr. Normile establishes the scope and engineering concept for projects under his direction, and stays involved in them through construction. He is particularly skilled at making technical issues understandable to all members of the project team. He has more than thirty years of structural engineering experience in both the A/E and consulting engineering environments in the U.S. and in Asia. He earned the BSCE degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978, and is registered in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, the District of Columbia, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Virginia.

A passionate structural engineer, Normile is equally fervent about working as part of a team in the creation of a building. The design of architecturally-complex institutional buildings has been a mainstay of his work which has also included the structural investigation and repair of both historic and contemporary buildings. Normile has served as president of the American Concrete Institute, Delaware Valley Chapter; director of the Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers; director of the AIA/GBCA Joint Committee; and treasurer of the Carpenters' Company of the City and County of Philadelphia.
