Ms. Pentz is Director of Historic Structures at Keast & Hood Co. She is well-known for her vital contributions to preservation engineering technology and particularly for her pioneering advances in wood pathology techniques. For more than twenty years, she has provided specialized engineering services for the assessment and stabilization of historic buildings and structures, including serving as project engineer on many noteworthy and influential preservation projects. Pentz is a graduate of West Virginia University with a combined degree in Civil Engineering and Urban Planning, and received graduate training in Historic Preservation Planning at Cornell University. In 1994, she was appointed to the Architectural Committee, an advisory board to the Philadelphia Historical Commission. She is the recipient of a Charles E. Peterson Research Fellowship Award for her study of the structural framing systems of Independence Hall.
