Frederick C. Baumert

Frederick C. Baumert, PE, CCS, is a hands-on principal with extensive experience in the design of new structures in steel, concrete, masonry, and wood, as well as renovation and restoration of existing facilities and historic structures. Fred graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a BSCE in 1980, and joined Keast &  Hood Co. the same year. He received an MSCE from Drexel University and was named a firm principal in 1989. Registered in Pennsylvania, Fred is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, Construction Specifications Institute, Association for Preservation Technology, Athenaeum of Philadelphia, and The Carpenters' Company of the City and County of Philadelphia. As a member of the Board of Trustees of Bryn Mawr College, Fred serves on the Finance and Buildings and Grounds Committees. This special owner's perspective gives him insight into issues of material quality, long-term serviceability, and life cycle costs.
